Letter: Cheers to Minnehaha Elementary

By Jeff Newport, VANCOUVER

I had a wonderful experience at Minnehaha Elementary School recently. I delivered a large number of books, donations from The Giving Closet. As I got out of my car in front of the school, kids were being dropped off by parents. Two ladies were welcoming the kids, helping them cross the crosswalk. Both ladies gave me a huge smile and a warm, friendly, “Hello!”

I went into the school’s office. Dee, the secretary, also welcomed me in a very friendly and helpful manner. Then on to the library to deposit the books. Kelsey, the librarian, introduced herself in the same manner. Very friendly! As I returned to my car several times I encountered more staff and students. And just like everyone else, smiles and nice greetings. What a wonderful school culture! Way to go Minnehaha!
