The Clark County Democrats’ central Vancouver office was vandalized early Sunday morning when someone threw a rock through a window.

A car sped into the parking lot, leaving tire tracks on the pavement, and then a person threw a single rock and shattered a window at 7723 N.E. Fourth Plain Blvd., Suite C, according to a Clark County Democrats news release.

Vancouver police took a report at 8:36 a.m. regarding a rock that was thrown through the front glass door, police spokeswoman Kim Kapp said in an email. Police took a similar report about an hour later, she said, for a rock that was thrown through a bedroom window at a nearby residence, in the 3100 block of Whitman Avenue.

Clark County Democrats said the identity and motivation of the vandal is unknown.

“We will work to repair our office, and we will continue our work to repair and heal our nation as a whole. We send our love and support to all of you,” the news release reads. “We want to thank our community, neighbors and law enforcement for the prompt support and fellowship they have provided.”
