The Washington Columbia River mainstem and tributary sport sampling summary May 22-28:

COLUMBIA RIVER MAINSTEM

SALMON/STEELHEAD

Sec 1 (Bonneville) — 254 bank anglers kept 38 Chinook, seven jacks and released nine Chinook; three boats/six rods had no catch.

Sec 2 (Camas/Washougal) — Four bank rods had no catch; nine boats/16 rods one Chinook and released one Chinook.

Sec 4 (Vancouver) — 51 bank anglers kept one Chinook jack; 28 boats/57 rods kept five Chinook adults and one jack and released two adult Chinook.

Sec 5 (Woodland) — 84 bank anglers kept two Chinook adults and released one adult and one jack; 16 boats/27 rods had no catch.

Sec 6 (Kalama) — 74 bank anglers released one Chinook; 30 boats/72 rods kept three Chinook adults and one jack and released one Chinook adult.

Sec 8 (Longview) — 107 bank anglers kept two Chinook adults and one jack and two steelhead and released one Chinook adult and one jack; 61 boats/136 rods kept 11 Chinook adults and five jacks and one steelhead and released one Chinook adult.

Sec 9 (Cathlamet) — One bank angler had no catch; 12 boats/29 rods kept seven Chinook adult and one jack and four steelhead.

Sec 10 (Cathlamet) — One bank angler had no catch; 13 boats/27 rods kept one Chinook adult.

SHAD

Sec 1 (Bonneville) — 22 bank anglers kept 46 shad.

Sec 5 (Woodland) — One boat/one angler kept 23 shad.

Sec 6 (Kalama) — Two boats/three rods kept 25 shad.

COLUMBIA RIVER TRIBUTARIES

SALMON/STEELHEAD

Cowlitz River from Interstate 5 bridge downstream — 21 bank rods had no catch; two boats/four rods had no catch.

Cowlitz River above I-5 bridge — Seven bank rods kept one Chinook adult and one jack; two boats/eight rods kept one Chinook jack and one steelhead.

Kalama River — 20 banks rods had no catch.

Lewis River — 21 bank anglers kept one Chinook adult and one jack; two boats/three rods kept one steelhead.

Wind River — Four bank rods had no catch; 38 boats/116 rods kept 39 Chinook adults and three jacks kept and one Chinook adult released.

Drano Lake — 13 bank rods kept one Chinook; 87 boats/266 rods kept 54 Chinook adults kept and released one Chinook adult.

Klickitat River below Fisher Hill Bridge — Three bank rods kept one Chinook.

Little White Salmon River — 3,000 rainbow trout, 2.50 fish per pound from Goldendale Hatchery.

Little Klickitat River — 750 rainbow trout, 2.50 fish per pound from Goldendale Hatchery.
