Letter: MAGA movement full of myths

By Darrell Anderson, BATTLE GROUND
Published: November 2, 2023, 6:00am

The first myth of MAGA politics is the leader, let’s call him Maga One (MO) is NOT a politician. Since MO is again running for office, he fits two definitions of the word — politician.

Myth No. 2: MO/MAGA are patriots. Patriots fought against the rule of an authoritarian king. MO likes tyrants and dictators, mimicking their leadership style. In revolutionary terms MO/MAGA are authoritarian loyalists, confirmed by MO’s need for loyalty to him above loyalty to our Constitution.

Myth No. 3: MO is one of the world’s wealthiest men. MO is the elite son of a New York real estate magnate and uses the same frauds as his father against banks/insurers to increase his wealth. However, MO is always less wealthy than he claims to be and was recently dropped from the Forbes 400 list of wealthiest Americans.

Myth No. 4: MO/MAGA are conservatives. We have many examples of MO/MAGA’s lack of respect for the rule of law, and MO requested the Constitution be terminated for the benefit of himself and repeated lies about his election as president.

If someone decides not to respond rationally to my freedom of speech, that will only prove the truth of what is written above.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
