Letter: Lewallen not right for 3rd District

Leslie Lewallen obviously isn’t right for the 3rd Congressional District (“Leslie Lewallen sets sights on Washington’s 3rd Congressional District seat,” The Columbian, Nov. 2). We don’t need a radical right-wing extremist.

Lewallen claims Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez is “too liberal” and doesn’t “work across the aisle”? That is a disturbing and patently false statement. (Kudos for fact-checking it.) It is either a lie or evidence of serious ignorance. Could Lewallen even work on her side of the aisle? I doubt it.

Next Lewallen alleges that insurrection supporting Joe Kent is closer to Perez than to Lewallen herself? That is a terrifying thought. Lewallen must have fallen off the edge of the lunatic fringe then. We don’t need our own version of Marjorie Taylor Greene.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
