Christopher Nolan’s biopic about the scientist who spearheaded the Manhattan Project tops the DVD releases for the week of Nov. 21.
“Oppenheimer”: One-half of this summer’s Barbenheimer phenomenon, Cillian Murphy stars in Nolan’s psychological exploration of J. Robert Oppenheimer. Also starring Emily Blunt and Matt Damon.
“This is not a movie about a bomb, but rather a movie about the U.S. government’s relationship to what it did in bombing Hiroshima and Nagasaki, subsuming the moral stance under piles of paperwork,” writes Tribune News Service critic Katie Walsh in her review. “The film is largely concerned with Adm. Lewis Strauss (Robert Downey Jr.), the head of the Atomic Energy Commission, who both worked and clashed with Oppenheimer after the war.”

“Saw X”: This 10th installment has franchise veterans Tobin Bell and Shawnee Smith — as Jigsaw and Amanda Young — back for more fun. Kevin Greutart, who directed 2009’s “Saw VI” and 2010’s “Saw 3D” — returns to orchestrate more horror.
“Expend4bles”: The fourth installment of the geezer teaser action franchise sees some new faces joining the crew as they embark on another mission. Starring Jason Statham, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and Megan Fox.
“The Unknown Country”: Combines documentary elements of people encountered along Midwestern highways with a fictional story of a woman (Lily Gladstone) grieving her grandmother’s death.
“The White Lotus: The Complete Second Season”: Your rooms are almost ready, just gonna be a few more minutes, as HBO’s satirical series returns for a second season set in Sicily. With Jennifer Coolidge.
“Godland”: Janus Contemporaries release of filmmaker Hlynur Palmason’s drama about a 19th-century Danish priest who makes the long, arduous trek north to Iceland, where he seeks to build and lead a church in a small coastal settlement.
“The Eight Mountains”: This 2022 drama following the friendship between two men who grow up from childhood together in a mountain village in the Italian Alps joins the ranks of Janus Contemporaries films as well.
“Tori and Lokita”: A third Janus Contemporaries release, from acclaimed Belgian brothers Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne, concerns two young African immigrants struggling to survive in Belgium.
“Mean Streets”: Martin Scorsese arrived as a major voice in American cinema with this 1973 film about low-level hoods played by Harvey Keitel and Robert De Niro. Now it enjoys a 4K digital restoration with this Criterion Collection release.
“La cérémonie”: This ’90s French crime thriller directed by Claude Chabrol also joins the Criterion Collection. Featuring Isabelle Huppert, Sandrine Bonnaire and Jacqueline Bisset.
