Letter: Solutions are needed, not fear

I read with interest the article that Leslie Lewallen launched a congressional campaign. I was hoping for a potential candidate to offer solutions to the problems confronting our area and nation.

Instead she “is the only one who can beat Perez.” It’s her only goal, and she is using the fear tactic of “forever losing the House.” Maybe the House would not be lost by Republicans if name-calling, threats, fear tactics, and making others who disagree with you the “enemy” — calling fellow Republicans “RINOs” if they don’t completely agree with extremists.

I don’t always agree with Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez, but she does try to work with both sides and has been a distinguished member of Congress. We are proud to have her represent those of us who are sick of extremists on both sides. We want people in office who care about our country above all, not people who only care about their party. By the way, Ms. Lewallen, people on both sides love our country.
