Letter: Shut down congressional pay

I read when our federal government shuts down members of our Armed Forces, TSA workers, flight controllers and “nonessential” federal employees won’t get paid. Shouldn’t that rule apply to members of Congress, too? That seems to be the only fair and right thing to do. Do I hear an “amen”?
