Letter: Support Perkel for city council

By Karissa Halstrom , VANCOUVER
Published: October 7, 2023, 6:00am

In this time of multiple crises, including the existential climate crisis, we need truly progressive leadership. We need new ideas for addressing housing. We need more representatives who won’t cave to business interests when it comes to getting people off the streets, when it comes to the warehouses, or when it comes to moving swiftly and boldly on fulfilling our Climate Action Framework.

Leah Perkel would bring her years of experience as a tireless advocate for the working class and the downtrodden to the Vancouver City Council — a true voice of the people which we desperately need more of right now.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
