RIDGEFIELD — Ridgefield School District officials recognized the October 2023 Employee and Students of the Month at the Oct. 10 school board meeting.
The October Employee of the Month is Bobbe Whetsell, choir teacher at Sunset Ridge Intermediate School and View Ridge Middle School.
With 30-plus years of experience teaching in the Ridgefield School District, Whetsell has created a long-lasting and successful choir program and pushes her students to perform at high levels. She actively recruits students to help create a diverse choir for both Sunset Ridge and View Ridge students.
The October students of the months are: Pre-K student at the Early Learning Center, Kennedy Curtis. Fourth grader at South Ridge Elementary School student, Amelia Speer. Fourth grader at Union Ridge Elementary School, Medade Benedick. Sixth grader at Sunset Ridge Intermediate School, Donna Kennedy. Eighth grader at View Ridge Middle School, Violet James. Eighth grader at Wisdom Ridge Academy, Nafisa Ula-Keeler. And senior at Ridgefield High School, Dillon Trussler.
