Vancouver police are beginning to add cameras to patrol cars, with the first installations to be completed this week.

When completed in about four weeks, all patrol cars and some vehicles driven by detectives will be equipped with front-facing and rear passenger cameras.

In all, 120 vehicles will be equipped.

The vehicle cameras are the second and final phase of Vancouver’s police camera program. Police officers have worn cameras on their bodies since March.
