Letter: Reelect Orange for port

By Jean M. Avery, VANCOUVER
Published: September 29, 2023, 6:00am

Don Orange is a major influencer in the Vancouver community. When city residents sought a leader to oppose the oil terminal, Don stepped up and ran for port commissioner. His vote, coupled with Eric LaBrant’s vote, protected Vancouver from becoming an oil town.

When you enjoy Vancouver’s new waterfront, know that it became a reality only after citizens and key leaders said “no” to big oil.

Let’s thank Don for his leadership and reelect him for another term as port commissioner. Warm thanks also go to Don’s wife, Mary, who has backed Don every step of the way.
