Letter: Trump is a liar and a cheat

Donald Trump recently proclaimed he won two championships in his Trump golf club tournaments. That brought me back 25 years ago when I first discovered Trump’s legendary reputation for lying and cheating on the golf course.

In the era long before “The Apprentice,” I read hundreds of autobiographies and memoirs by celebrities, sports legends, actors, authors, etc. Although I had no special interest in the “businessman” Trump, I saw a curious trend whenever the authors participated in games of golf with Trump. Over and over, Trump’s staff openly moved his ball to improve his score. When questioned, the answer was always: “Mr. Trump’s rules.”

Despite no connection with each other, the writers speculated about why would a successful person openly cheat and lie? We now know that Trump’s “rules” apply to every aspect of his life. He will do anything to proclaim himself “the winner” and if you support him, you will be the loser.
