Firefighters responded to a fire outside The Columbian on Saturday morning that burned a tree and part of the exterior of the building. No one was hurt, and printing operations won’t be affected.

At about 10:30 a.m., witnesses saw a woman walk away from a tree that appeared to be on fire near the building entrance at 701 W. Eighth St., police said.
Firefighters arrived and quickly put out the blaze. Police had not located the suspect as of 11:30 a.m. Saturday.
