Letter: Littered roadsides are embarrassing

God bless Madeline Lyne and the East County Citizens’ Alliance for their efforts in cleaning up our state Highway 14 roadsides (“Hundreds of volunteer hours later, litter on Highway 14 is impossible to keep up with,” The Columbian, Jan. 29). And shame on us and the Washington State Department of Transportation for not persisting in obtaining adequate funding to keep our roadsides clean and properly manicured. Double shame on those who are littering. Travel to most any other state and admire their roadside conditions while we look like trash town. Embarrassing.
