Letter: Staff cuts hurt schools

So our resident “teacher/legislator” has decided to require the participation of librarians during any book-banning review (“Stonier introduces bill to protect against book bans,” The Columbian, Feb. 3).

If a certain local school district had any librarians left then that might make sense. Has she forgotten that blood bath from a few years back?

Maybe Ms. Stonier should focus on getting the librarians back in the building, along with the other folks about to be removed all over the county, by doing her side job a little better and demanding proper funding for all districts in the county.

Districts can figure out how to best utilize librarians, et al., once they have the funding to employ them in the first place.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
