The Federal Way Police Department is investigating a deadly hit and run from Saturday night and has still not identified a suspect.

At 7:20 p.m. Saturday night, officers were called to Southwest Dash Point Road in Federal Way, where a driver hit a 22-year-old man. The victim was taken to Harborview Medical Center, where he died from his injuries.

The driver fled from the scene and the Federal Way Police Department is asking anyone who may have knowledge of the crash to come forward.

Officials have not released the name of the victim.

Although officials have not yet confirmed the final tally, state officials believe roughly 800 people died on the state’s roads last year, a more than 30-year-high. Pedestrian deaths, in particular, have spiked since 2020.
