EAST WENATCHEE — The Eastmont School District’s $117 million bond proposal to renovate several of its elementary schools failed by less than 0.5 percent after final election results were released Friday.
The bond received 4,607 “yes” votes, or 59.56 percent, and 3,128 “no” votes. The proposal needed 60 percent supermajority to pass.
“I see it as a strong message from our voters that they agree with the need and that they want better and safer facilities,” Superintendent Becky Berg said.
The same $117 million bond will be placed on the April 23 special election.
