The Washington State Department of Health took disciplinary actions or has withdrawn charges against these Clark County providers.

The license will be on probation for at least one year, during which time her employer must submit quarterly performance evaluation reports. Markin must also pay a $500 fine.

In August, the secretary of health granted Michelle Lynn Kovich a license to practice as an agency affiliated counselor with conditions on the license. The license will be on probation for at least two years, during which time an approved professional must supervise Kovich’s practice and submit quarterly performance evaluation reports. In June 2017, Kovich was convicted of second-degree aggravated battery, a felony, in Florida.

In August, the Occupational Therapy Practice Board granted Tayler Hanz Schmidt a license to practice as an occupational therapist with conditions on the license. Schmidt must enroll and participate in a monitoring program. In January 2015 and again in September 2022, Schmidt was convicted of misdemeanor driving under the influence.

In September, the Board of Nursing granted Janae Nichole McDaniel a license to practice as an advanced registered nurse practitioner with conditions on the license. The license will be on probation until at least July 6, 2025, during which time McDaniel must comply with all terms and conditions required by a May agreed order entered on her registered nurse license.

In September, the Veterinary Board of Governors charged veterinarian Mark Joel Burton with unprofessional conduct. Charges state that between 2011 and 2021, on multiple occasions, Burton administered and prescribed treatments to a dog that were contraindicated, or safer options were available. He also allegedly failed to explain the side effects of some of the treatments to the dog’s owner.

In October, the Agency Affiliated Counselor Program and Kathryn M. Reinmuth agreed to the surrender of her agency affiliated counselor license. Reinmuth has no right to reapply for the license or reinstatement.

In December, the Oregon State Board of Nursing reinstated the registered nurse license of Elizabeth S. Feustel and placed it on probation for 20 months for previously using intoxicants to the extent injurious to herself or others and practicing nursing while impaired. She resides in Vancouver.
