Girls Basketball: Evergreen hands Mountain View first league defeat

Kimora Ross scored 26 points as the Evergreen girls basketball team defeated Mountain View 58-40 on Tuesday.

It was Mountain View’s first 3A Greater St. Helens League loss of the season.

The Plainsmen (6-8, 3-2 3A GSHL) only led 21-20 at halftime, but had an 18-7 third quarter to pull away.

Adrian Wright added 16 points for Evergreen.

Mylee Thompson led Mountain View (12-3, 4-1) in scoring with 15 points.

PRAIRIE 63, HERITAGE 32 — The Falcons outscored visiting Heritage 21-8 in the second quarter and kept it up in the third quarter to get their first 3A GSHL win after three losses.

Harmony Fallin had a double-double for Prairie with 14 points and 10 steals, and Emma Smith turned in 12 points and 12 rebounds for a double-double as well.

Claire Smith added eight points and six rebounds for the Falcons (4-7, 1-3).

Heritage (1-9, 0-4) was led by Jaila Ellis with 23 points.

RIDGEFIELD 60, WOODLAND 35 — The Spudders pulled even with Columbia River atop the 2A GSHL with the win over visiting Woodland.

Ridgefield (10-1, 7-1 2A GSHL) held the Beavers to single-digit scoring in the first three quarters.

Woodland’s Kennedy Bockert led all players with 19 points and 15 rebounds.

Ridgefield’s Jalise Chatman scored 15 points, and Savannah Chanda had 10.

WASHOUGAL 62, HOCKINSON 33 — Isabella Albaugh scored 17 points as the Panthers earned their fourth consecutive win with a 2A GSHL road victory.

Jenna Klopman added 16 points and Ireland Albaugh scored 11 points for Washougal (8-6, 6-3 2A GSHL).

Isabella and Ireland Albaugh each scored seven points in the first quarter as the Panthers bolted to a 20-8 lead.

Siena Brown scored 19 points to lead Hockinson (3-9, 1-7).

MARK MORRIS 36, R.A. LONG 26 — Reece Johnston scored 12 points as the Monarchs earned a 2A GSHL home win.

Johnston scored seven points in the third quarter, in which Mark Morris outscored the Lumberjills 16-7 to take a 29-18 lead.

Mark Morris (7-4, 5-3 2A GSHL) has won five of its last six games.

Brianna Garwood scored 11 points for R.A. Long (3-10, 1-8).

SETON CATHOLIC 70, CASTLE ROCK 31 — Riley Seymer scored 18 points as the Cougars rolled to a 1A Trico League home victory.

Madison Lee added 10 points for Seton Catholic (9-4, 3-0 Trico). All 11 players scored for the Cougars, who have won seven games in a row.

Laynee Logan scored 13 points to lead Castle Rock (4-8, 1-2).

KING’S WAY CHRISTIAN 23, LA CENTER 21 — The Knights found their offense in the fourth quarter to remain undefeated in 1A Trico League play.

Avery Tindol scored six of her 10 points in the fourth quarter as King’s Way (9-3, 3-0 Trico) outscored La Center 12-6.

McKenzie Schockelt scored seven points to lead La Center (4-8, 0-3).
