New on DVD: Go covert with ‘Special Ops: Lioness’

The first season of a modern espionage series tops the DVD releases for the week of Jan. 23.

“Special Ops: Lioness – Season One”: Zoe Saldana stars as a shadowy government operative engaged in the war on terror in this Paramount+ drama from executive producer Taylor Sheridan. The drama is also featuring Nicole Kidman, Laysla De Oliveira and Dave Annable.

Also new on DVD

“Your Lucky Day”: A winning lottery ticket proves to be ill fortune in this hostage thriller set in a convenience store. Stars Angus Cloud of “Euphoria,” who died last year at age 25.

“Project Dorothy”: Two criminals hiding in a science facility after a failed heist discover a monstrous experiment in this horror thriller.

“Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths – Part One”: DC Comics animated film in which the titular heroes are called together when the Anti-Monitor supervillain threatens the multiverse.

“Chantal Akerman Masterpieces, 1968–1978”: This three-disc Blu-ray set from the Criterion Collection includes nine works from the Belgian filmmaker, including “Jeanne Dielman, 23 Commerce Quay, 1080 Brussels,” her 1975 film that topped the most recent Sound and Sound best films poll.

“Wish”: A young girl in a bucolic city realizes that things are not as happy as they seem when everyone’s wishes are hoarded and kept secret by their king, a powerful wizard, in this Disney animated feature marking the studio’s 100th anniversary.

“Ferrari”: Filmmaker Michael Mann’s latest feature follows a couple of dramatic months in the life of the Italian automotive magnate Enzo Ferrari (Adam Driver) in 1957.
