new on DVd: British folk flick brings rustic terror

A British folk horror throwback tops the DVD releases for the week of March 5.

“Lord of Misrule”: From the director of “Orphan: First Kill,” this tale of folklore-inspired fright centers on a woman who has recently taken over as the priest of a small town. When her daughter goes missing during the local harvest festival, a desperate search ensues, but the closer they come to finding her, the more secrets emerge from the town’s sinister past.

“The Swearing Jar”: A woman juggles pregnancy and love with her husband as well as a growing spark with an aspiring musician in this Canadian musical romance film. Starring Adelaide Clemens, Kathleen Turner and Patrick J. Adams.

“Who Are You People”: Drama in which a teen girl runs away in search of her birth father after finding an old letter from him at her adoptive home. With Ema Horvath, Alyssa Milano, Devon Sawa and John Ales.
