NW Natural charges get customers’ attention

Utility has added ‘WA Climate Act Fee’ to bills

On a recent wintery day, Clark County resident Janice Sauve opened her bill from NW Natural and saw a $31.23 fee that hadn’t been there previously.

The utility notified its Washington customers that they could expect to pay on average an extra $8.78 per month, about an 11.9 percent increase, with the addition of an item labeled “WA Climate Act Fee” on bills.
