Two weeks after seeking tips about a suspected trailer thief, Clark County Sheriff’s Office investigators said they believe they’ve connected him to dozens of stolen trailers across the Pacific Northwest.

On Feb. 27, detectives said they believed a man using the aliases WebbJJ, Joshua James and Joshua J. Webb had been stealing and reselling trailers in the area for more than a year.

According to a Wednesday update from the sheriff’s office, detectives learned of 17 trailer theft cases they believe are connected to the suspect. The cases spanned from Woodland to Salem, Ore., and from Astoria, Ore., to Bend, Ore., and totaled more than $180,000, according to an agency news release.

In Clark County, the suspect is facing allegations of five counts of first-degree trafficking in stolen property, four counts of first-degree theft, two counts of second-degree burglary, one count of forgery and one count of possession of a stolen motor vehicle, the news release states.

Investigators also expect other jurisdictions to refer charges, the sheriff’s office said.
