Letter: Letter makes generalizations

In Roy Schimelpfenig’s letter (“Democrats rely on lies,” Our Readers’ Views, March 12), he again tries to pigeonhole Democrats and liberals. Stop, please. Every voter is  their own unique and hopefully informed individual. We are all Americans. When one demonizes without offering a viable solution you are becoming a part of the problem and not a part of the solution. Unless we start treating everyone with the dignity and respect that we all deserve we are doing our state, our nation and our world a disservice.

The world’s problems are too complex to be solved by one nation, one people, one religion. We have to come together. And Mr. Schimelpfenig, how do you know what Putin thinks?

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
