Letter: Trump’s lies add up

Roy Schimelpfenig (“Democrats rely on lies,” Our Readers’ views, March 12) accuses the Democrats of lying about Trump’s ties to Russia. Trump’s attachments to Russian funding are all documented in the Mueller Report, a bread crumb trail leading directly to Russia. Such ties are being raised again with the proposed bond for $91 million, which also appears to have Russian ties. The praise that Trump heaps on Putin is staggering in the face of the Russian attempts to undermine America, NATO and the West.

Let’s talk about the lies told by the GOP and Trump. Where is all of the evidence the GOP and Trump claim to have, but mysteriously never produced, to prove the 2020 election was ”rigged”? What about the repeated denials that Trump did not have any classified documents in his possession, only to discover a large cache of banker boxes that contained material he no longer was cleared to hold? Trump has scored over 37,000 lies and counting.

If Trump is innocent of any of the 88 charges (with more to come in the future), why is he dragging out the process? An innocent person accused of a crime would demand an immediate trial to prove their innocence and clear their good name.
