Prep highlights: Camas softball shuts down Kelso

Jayda Peterson and Lilia Boyd combined on a one-hitter as Camas beat Kelso 10-0 in a non-league road game Wednesday.

Peterson allowed one single and one walk over five innings. Boyd then pitched a perfect sixth inning as the Papermakers (5-2) won for the third time in their last four games.

Savannah Kvistad went 3 for 4 with three RBIs. Her bases-loaded double gave the Papermakers a 5-0 lead in the second inning.

Azlin Wong went 2 for 4 with three RBI, including a two-run home run that put Camas ahead 9-0 in the fourth inning. Sophia Chambers also went 2 for 4 with a triple and a double.

Stars of the day

  • Connor Wesemann, Kelso baseball, went 2 for 3 with a double and scored the lone run in a 1-0 win over Battle Ground as the Highlanders improved to 8-0.
  • Cooper McGowan, Battle Ground baseball, pitched five strong innings, allowing four hits, one walk and striking out six in a 1-0 loss to Kelso.
  • Elizabeth Peery, Ridgefield softball, went 3 for 3 with three runs, three RBI, a double and a stolen base in a 16-0 win over Washougal.
  • Kayla Lester, Skyview softball, went 2 for 2 with a home run, a double and four RBI in a 10-0 win over Mountain View.
  • Madison Walker, Woodland softball, went 2 for 4 with a home run, a triple, three runs and three RBI in a 20-0 win over Fort Vancouver.
  • Michala Dupree, Union softball, went 2 for 3 with a home run and two RBI in a 8-1 win over Prairie as the Titans remained undefeated.
  • Emily Hull, Columbia River softball, went 3 for 4 with two home runs, a double and six RBI in a 22-6 win over Hockinson.
  • Trent Blatnik, Woodland baseball, his two-run single drove in the eventual winning run as part of a five-run seventh inning in a 13-12 win over Hudson’s Bay.
