Battle Ground man killed in motorcycle crash on Lewis River Road

A Battle Ground man was killed in a crash after he went down an embankment and was thrown from his motorcycle, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Grant E. Jagelski, 22, was killed in the crash near Ariel on Lewis River Road, according to a WSP crash memo.

According to the memo, Jagelski was southbound on Lewis River Road/state Highway 503, not far from the west end of Lake Merwin, about 7:40 p.m. Sunday when his 2001 Kawasaki left the road and went down an embankment. WSP did not know why Jagelski left the road.

He was wearing a helmet but was pronounced dead at the scene.

WSP did not know if drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash. The cause is under investigation.
