Camas school board Vice President Erika Cox on Monday announced her resignation, which is effective June 21. Cox, a former parent-teacher association president with a history of public service, has been on the school board since 2018.

“Serving as a Camas school board director has been an honor that I’ll reflect upon with great appreciation,” Cox said in a district news release Monday. “I am proud of the work we’ve accomplished together, specifically our work in equity, choice learning and significant capital investments. The future of our district is strong because of the continued dedication and leadership of the Camas school board.”

Cox represents District 2, which contains much of the southwest portion of the district. Interested applicants should reach out to Gail Housel at gail.housel@camas.wednet.edu. Applications will be accepted until noon May 31, and interviews will be conducted June 17.
