Letter: Support Erickson for utility

By Mike Harris, Vancouver
Published: October 5, 2024, 6:00am

As a retired utility industry executive, I applaud The Columbian’s recent energy articles that well define our Pacific Northwest’s complex energy future. We need an experienced leader who can navigate the complexity of simultaneously maintaining affordable, reliable power while solving multiple challenges, including exploding power demand, renewables integration, hedges against climate uncertainty, and enabling grid modernization.

Sherry Erickson is by far the superior candidate for public utilities commissioner. Her background as a consulting engineer, a fiscally responsible business owner, and an involved community member who’s followed Clark Public Utilities since 2012 make her the experienced leader we can trust with our energy future.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
