One Stop Home Furnishings is celebrating 70 years of operations in the Camas-Washougal area this month.

Started in 1954 by Mickey and Hazel Schwary, the business began as an appliance store. Daughter and son-in-law Joanne and Winn Fletcher took over a few years later and added furniture and mattresses.

In 1986, Dave and Molly Fletcher took over the business at 2140 S.E. Eighth Ave. in Camas.

One Stop Home Furnishings is now the oldest independent furniture store — owned by the same family for three generations — in Clark County.
