Letter: Kent is dangerous, un-American

Joe Kent is a hammer. The downside of that is that everything is a nail. Having spent so many years in the Middle East, even losing his wife over there, has left him with a permanent soldier’s mindset: Anyone not agreeing with him is an enemy that must be destroyed.

This is, of course, dangerous and un-American, especially when you debase the topic by making it about race. Since Day One here in the USA, someone has used real or in this case, fake anger to go after anyone different from the rest. The Irish, Blacks, Natives, Jews, Muslims, Italians, etc. It’s ugly and we are done with it.

Fearmongering is destroying our country. The anger politics does not fix anything. Reaching out beyond the need to serve to assess yourself as ruler over others is far from what democracy is all about.

Every time I hear Joe Kent, it is usually with exclamation points at the end, because it is just an emotional reaction to made-up or exaggerated problems. My vote is with Marie Gluesenkamp Perez. Why? Because she is the alternative to being ruled by an ignorant hammer.
