Vigil for Meshay “Karmen” Melendez and Layla Stewart

A community vigil for Meshay Melendez and Layla Stewart, who were both killed, was held Sunday in Esther Short Park in downtown Vancouver. National Women's Coalition Against Violence & Exploitation and the YWCA Clark County, in conjunction with friends and family of the victims, held a remembrance in Esther Short Park in Vancouver. Melendez's former husband, Malcom Louis, is comforted by friends at the memorial.
