Officers Row: The Pride of the Vancouver National Historic Reserve

The historical significance of the Grant House is owed to the construction of Officers Row, which was used to house U.S. Military officers stationed at the Vancouver Barracks. Built in 1849, The Grant House is the oldest house on Officers Row, and served as both headquarters for the army and as the residence of the commanding officer.

While all of the historic homes on Officers Row have been restored, the elegance and grandeur of a bygone era remains.

Decadent Grounds Replete with History and Nature’s Beauty

The Eatery at The Grant House boasts manicured grounds, complete with magnolia and pear trees, and even an herb garden which is used in creating their mouth-watering appetizers and entrees. Mature trees provide ample shade on warm summer days, and an outdoor patio serves as a post-nuptial dance floor complete with garden lights and covered verandas for the perfect evening ambiance.

A Beautiful Location for Any Gathering, Grand or Intimate

Eatery at The Grant House accommodates up to 250 guests for weddings or other private events. Couples can choose to have their ceremony at the house itself, or under the Gazebo at the Vancouver Fort.

In addition to the gorgeous outdoor lawn and patio, guests can enjoy mingling within the main dining area, the sunroom, and the parlor’s elegant interior. Plus, with two wraparound verandas on both floors, your friends and family can enjoy stunning views of the Fort and surrounding area from every side of the house.

There are also four private rooms upstairs, which mean suites for the bride and groom are easily accommodated.

The Grant House is also the perfect place to host your pre- and post-wedding events, including engagement parties, bridal showers, rehearsal dinners, and a next-day weekend brunch.

Their on-site event coordinator will work with you or your wedding planner to make sure your event runs smoothly.

Fresh Flavors for All Seasons, Customized to the Needs of Your Guests

As a farm-to-table restaurant, Eatery at The Grant House has access to nearby farms, and fresh seafood is from just an hour away. Because of this, they are able to bring the freshest ingredients to their kitchen, and then to your guests. The available fresh produce changes seasonally, but they can accommodate any entrée requests, even if your event is months away.

All of their delectable recipes are created by renowned chef, Capers Ogletree. A graduate of New York Restaurant School, Ogletree worked at the 3-Michelin star Jean-Georges before beginning his illustrious career in the Pacific Northwest.

When selecting the menu for your guests, you can rest assured that all dietary needs can be accommodated as well; Ogletree will ensure that every guest will have a wonderful and memorable culinary experience.

As an added convenience, Eatery at the Grant House’s own Head Pastry Chef, Sarah Austin, can create any wedding cake right on-site to wow you and your guests. Sarah has been featured in many bridal magazines for her ornate and delicious custom cakes.
