A man was shot to death late Sunday night in a home invasion robbery in the 5300 block of Northeast St. James Road, in the Minnehaha area of Vancouver.

Charles N. Moore, 46, died at the scene, according to a bulletin from the Vancouver Police Department.

Investigators are looking for two to five men wearing masks and dark clothing in connection to the shooting, police said.

Officers were dispatched to the residence just before 11 p.m. Sunday.

Dispatch reports indicated there was an armed robbery and shots had been fired.

Arriving officers found Moore unconscious. He appeared to have suffered at least one gunshot wound, police said.

Investigators with the police Major Crimes Unit worked through Sunday night and Monday, and continue to seek clues leading to the suspects, said police spokeswoman Kim Kapp.

As of Monday night, detectives had identified no suspects and reported no arrests.

On Monday afternoon, police confirmed early reports that the killing was part of a home invasion robbery, but declined to say what the assailants were seeking.

Detectives are asking neighbors and others who were in the area at the time of the shooting — and who may have seen someone running, a possible escape vehicle or other suspicious activity — to call them.

Those with immediate information can call 911.
