Asay wins second straight round in NFR

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Wyoming bull rider Kanin Asay won his second straight round in the National Finals Rodeo on Sunday night, scoring 88.5 points on Foolish Pride.

Cody Whitney, from Asaher, Okla., was second for the second straight round, finishing with an 87.5 on Mission Accomplished. He’s the only rider to cover all of his bulls in the first four rounds and leads the aggregate standings with 334.5 points.

Defending world champion J.W. Harris of Mullin, Texas, was bucked off Monkey Blood after riding his first three bulls. He droped to second in the aggregate standings with 265.5. Harris is second in the world standings with $130,779, while Wesley Silcox tops the list with $150,667.

Silcox tied for fourth in the fourth round with an 82 on Komatsu Kitty.
