A 39-year-old La Center woman was killed Friday night when she crashed a car over an embankment and into a tree in far-north Clark County, east of Woodland and just south of the North Fork of the Lewis River, police said.

Shanin Hancuff was found dead in a 1998 Honda Civic shortly before 7 p.m., along Northeast Hayes Road just east of Dogwood Lane, according to a bulletin from Sgt. K.C. Kasberg with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

The bulletin said Hancuff had been driving east passing Dogwood when the car left the roadway.

The crash is under investigation, the bulletin said, and causing factors hadn’t been determined.
