Four Vancouver residents were injured Tuesday afternoon in a vehicle crash near Wauna, Ore.

The accident occurred about 3:40 p.m. along Highway 30, one mile west of Wauna, when a westbound Buick sedan driven by a Kelso teenager crossed the center line, striking an eastbound Chevrolet Avalanche, Oregon State Police said.

The Avalanche was driven by Heather L. Gibson, 29, of Vancouver. Other passengers in her pickup were Mary Millar, 83, Toby Gibson, 4, and Brianna Gibson, 1 1/2 . All were transported to various hospitals with injuries that weren’t life-threatening, police said. The Gibsons were not in a local hospital Wednesday night. Millar was taken by Life Flight helicopter and was in satisfactory condition Wednesday night at OHSU Hospital in Portland.

The driver of the Buick was identified as Jacob N. Sullivan, 16, of Kelso. A passenger, David Bayer, 16, of Kelso was in St. John Medical Center in Longview in satisfactory condition on Wednesday night. Sullivan and passenger Leigha R. Warner, 16, were taken to Columbia Memorial Hospital in Astoria and were not listed as patients Wednesday night.

Highway 30 is a popular route from Southwest Washington to the Oregon Coast. On Aug. 10, four Ridgefield teens were killed and a fifth was seriously injured on the same highway, a few miles east of the scene of Tuesday’s accident.
