Yep, I had the furnace running Wednesday thanks to the chilly and damp conditions that we just seem not to be able to get rid of. And with that being said, it appears we won’t be seeing any real summerlike weather in the seven-day forecast either.
We will have some days with partial clearing but a chance of showers on other days. Temperatures will hover below or close to normal. I noticed Wednesday that snow was falling down to pass levels in the Washington Cascades.
Portland surpassed its record rainfall for June on Tuesday thanks in part to some heavy showers Tuesday evening. The Portland record is for the airport location going back to 1941. Regardless, it has been very wet. I recorded .61 of an inch out of those heavy showers. My monthly total as of noon on Wednesday was 4.96 inches. That is more rain than we had in February.
It is turning out to be a green tomato summer by the looks of things. Of course things can change abruptly, especially after the Fourth of July. This year will be anyone’s guess. I am anticipating a warm and dry period for August and September into early October.
