CALRK COUNTY — The Nutter Family Foundation is accepting community grant applications until June 15, 2010.

The foundation, a charitable outgrowth of Vancouver-based construction company, the Nutter Corporation, promotes peaceful and healthy environments for children by supporting nonprofit organizations that provide sports, arts, culture and other opportunities for youth.

Last year, the foundation raised more than $100,000 for local community organizations at the annual Dozer Day celebration it co-hosts with the Parks Foundation of Clark County. This year it expects to raise even more money at Dozer Day — now extended to two days, May 15 and 16. Dozer Day is an event where kids can try operating heavy equipment — with professional operators at their sides.

Now, the Nutter Family Foundation is taking applications for one-time grants, multiyear grants up to three years, start-up program grants, and challenge or matching grants. To apply, go to www.nutterfounda tion.org and find the downloadable grant application.
