In the Region: Girls lacrosse season concludes today

The Evergreen Lacrosse Club will wrap up the high school girls lacrosse season with a 1 p.m. match today at McKenzie Stadium against Bethel.

Admission is free.

Evergreen is 8-2 playing in the junior varsity division of the Washington Schoolgirls Lacrosse Association. The team includes players from each of the four Evergreen School District high schools.

Six seniors play their final game today for Evergreen Lacrosse. Meagan Howard (Union) is third in the JV Division in goals and fourth in points. Heidi Neve (Mountain View) is averaging more than three points per game. Emily Perez (Heritage) leads a defense that has conceded an average of six goals per game.

The team’s other seniors are Laurel Donison (Mountain View), who tallied the game-winning goal in Wednesday’s 8-7 road victory over Seattle Prep, two-year player Anndrea Southern (Heritage), and first-year player Alyssa Woodward (Heritage).

King’s Way boys win

Jordan Goodspeed scored four decisive goals, and Parker Dotsey and Clayton Frank scored three apiece as the King’s Way Christian boys lacrosse team beat Eastside Catholic 14-3 on Friday in Sammamish.

Zach Lindahl had two goals and an assist for the Knights (9-2). Goalie Max Zandstra made 12 saves in the win over Eastside Catholic (2-11).

King’s Way plays at 6 p.m. today against Puyallup (6-5) at Sparks Stadium.

Clark softball splits

The Clark College softball team split a pair of one-run games against Chemeketa Community College on Friday. The Penguins won 3-2 in eight innings, then fell 11-10.

Cami Langdon had two hits in each game, and knocked in the winning run with two outs in the eighth inning of the first game. Dana Schumaker pitched all eight innings in the first game.

Clark (11-21, 2-12 in its division) hosts Southwestern Oregon for games at noon and 2 p.m. today at Hudson’s Bay High School.
