McCollum, Knutson help Lehigh beat Bryant 88-68

BETHLEHEM, Pa. (AP) — C.J. McCollum scored 27 points and Gabe Knutson added 22 as Lehigh defeated Bryant 88-68 on Sunday night.

McCollum made 5 of 10 3-pointers, while Knutson was 10 of 12 from the field as the Mountain Hawks (3-3) shot the ball well. Lehigh was 32 of 59 shooting (54.2 percent), including 15 of 26 (57.7 percent) in the second half when they outscored Bryant 46-33.

The first half saw eight ties and 14 lead changes before the Mountain Hawks scored the final seven points of the period. Michael Ojo’s dunk with 3 seconds left gave Lehigh a 42-35 lead at halftime.

The Bulldogs (1-5) brought it to 43-40 on a 3 by Frankie Dobbs early in the second quarter. Lehigh then went on a 14-2 run to lead 57-42 on McCollum’s layup with 15:03 to play. He had seven points during the spurt.

Alex Francis scored 16 for Bryant, Corey Maynard added 14 and Dobbs had 12.
