Fairleigh Dickinson beats Longwood 83-78

FARMVILLE, Va. (AP) — Mike Scott scored 21 points, dished out 10 assists and grabbed nine rebounds to help Fairleigh Dickinson defeat Longwood 83-78 on Monday night.

The Knights (1-3) led 54-35 at halftime thanks to 22-of-33 shooting in the opening half (66.7 percent), including 5 for 6 from 3-point range.

Scott scored 15 points and had eight of his 10 assists in the first half as Fairleigh Dickinson appeared to be cruising to its first win of the season.

But with 16:47 left in the second half and trailing 59-39, the Lancers (3-4) went on a 10-minute run and outscored the Knights 24-4, tying the score at 63.

Both teams traded baskets until the 1:50 mark when Fairleigh Dickinson put together an 11-3 run to open up a 83-75 lead with 5 seconds remaining.

Antwan Carter and Martiz Washington scored 14 apiece to lead Longwood. Carter also had 14 rebounds.
