The Vancouver police and fire departments are investigating a car fire reported just before 6 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Fire crews were dispatched at 5:54 a.m. to the intersection of Northeast 155th Avenue and Northeast 47th Circle, where they found a 1994 Honda Accord fully involved. The car was apparently stolen, parked at the intersection and set on fire, according to Jim Flaherty, a fire department spokesman.

There were no injuries reported.

An investigation determined the fire was intentionally set.

It was the second arson involving an automobile in two days in Vancouver.

The Vancouver police and fire departments responded to an apparent arson early Monday morning near the intersection of West 19th and Harney streets.

A parked car there was set on fire at about 3:40 a.m. Firefighters used a circular saw to cut through the hood of a 1995 Pontiac Bonneville and then doused flames that were centralized in the engine compartment.

There were no injuries reported, said Capt. Kevin Murray of the fire department.

The Vancouver Fire Arson Team is investigating.

The two arsons don’t appear to be related, Firefighter-spokesman Jim Flaherty said Tuesday evening.

Anyone with information is asked to call the arson hot line at 360-606-9022.
