LEBANON, Ore. (AP) — A Lebanon, Oregon, police detective is in a coma after his vehicle left a road and struck a power pole.

The Albany Democrat-Herald says investigators aren’t sure what caused Dustin Wyatt’s vehicle to crash Monday evening on Brownsville Road. Linn County sheriff’s Sgt. Craig Vogt says Wyatt, a seven-year veteran of the department, was in a coma Tuesday afternoon. The sheriff’s office is investigating the crash.

The newspaper says the stretch of road has been the site of more than a dozen crashes in the past eight years.
