Game notes

• SOMETHING’S GOTTA GIVE BOWL: Skyview. Union. The Storm won the past two Class 4A Greater St. Helens League titles. The Titans won the past two 3A GSHL titles. Now in the same league, this county isn’t big enough for two 4A champs.

• WHAT SKYVIEW IS SAYING: “They play fast. Cale (Piland) and his staff always do a great job,” Skyview coach Steve Kizer said. “In particular, the defense flies around. They will come at you, and they know where they’re going.”

• WHAT UNION IS SAYING: “We have a lot of respect for their program and their coaching staff,” Union coach Cale Piland said. “This is going to be a good test.”

• FUTURE RE-MATCH? Is there another long playoff run in the works for both squads? “We want to play Union twice,” Kizer said. “We’ll root for them after this game.”

• CAMAS HOSTS BIG GAME: Camas is hosting Kelso with the 3A GSHL title on the line. Camas is looking to complete an undefeated regular season.

• MORE BIGGIES: Evergreen and Heritage play for the third playoff berth from the 4A GSHL. Columbia River hosts Mountain View in a must-win game for the Chieftains.

• LOOKING GOOD: Stevenson, La Center, and Ridgefield are all in position to make the playoffs in the Trico League.

• INTERNET RADIO: Ron Soanka will again be calling the action from McKenzie Stadium, starting with Heritage vs. Evergreen at 5 p.m. and Skyview vs. Union at 8 p.m. Broadcast can be heard on sportsbeatradio.com.
