SALEM, Ore. (AP) — Urban chicken supporters in Salem say the recent nationwide egg recall shows why residents should be allowed to raise hens in their back yards.
If the city council agrees at Monday night’s meeting, residents would be allowed to keep up to three hens.
The Statesman Journal reports chicken owners would have to get a license and could not keep any roosters.
