Girls basketball: Battle Ground 63, Hudson’s Bay 27

Tessa Vanderpool scored 18 points and Haley Grossman added 16 as Battle Ground jumped out to a 17-3 lead after one quarter.

Nikki Bond added 11 points for the Tigers, who will open league play on Friday at home against Evergreen. Treneisha Doyle had 10 points to lead Bay.
