Girls basketball: Washougal 55, Hudson’s Bay 51

Washougal 55, Hudson’s Bay 51 — Kendall Utter’s fifth 3-pointer of the game — with 11 seconds remaining — put the Panthers ahead. Sara Brown added two free throws with five seconds left to seal the Washougal win.

Hudson’s Bay took its only lead of the night at 51-50 on a 3-pointer by Demia Browning with 20 seconds remaining.

Utter (21 points), Maddie Down (19 points) and Brown (13 points) scored all but two of Washougal’s points. Utter also had six assists. Brown was 11 for 12 from the foul line.

Maddie Down had 13 rebounds and Megan Townsend 12 rebounds and five steals for the Panthers (5-3).

Trenisha Doyle led Hudson’s Bay with 20 points.

After Utter’s go-ahead 3-pointer, the Eagles turned over the ball on an over-and-back violation.
