Morrison hits 28 as Oral Roberts tops UMKC 72-65

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- Dominique Morrison scored 28 points, including 14 of 15 free throws, to pace Oral Roberts to a 72-65 victory over UMKC on Wednesday night.
Michael Craion had a double-double with 14 points and 16 rebounds for the Golden Eagles (10-4, 2-0 Summit League), who have won 10 of their last 12 and beat UMKC for the 13th consecutive time.
Reggie Chamberlain led the Kangaroos (7-8, 1-2) with 17 points. Thomas Staton added 15, and Kirk Korver and Estan Tyler scored 10 apiece.
Oral Roberts dominated inside, with advantages of 41-17 in rebounding, 34-22 in points in the paint and 14-4 in second-chance points.
After Dustin Dibble's 3-pointer cut UMKC's deficit to 28-26 with 4:31 left in the first half, Morrison scored six points in a 12-0 run that made it 40-26 just before intermission.
UMKC closed within 54-52 with 7:41 left but never regained the lead.
